DSE Slumps as 250 Stocks Fall

Trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the nation’s primary stock market, concluded with a decline in the price index on the second working day of the week. The values of almost 250 shares fell for the companies that were dealing on this particular day. Additionally, the overall transaction value dropped at the same moment.

According to DSE sources, on Thursday (September 9), the DSEX, the main index of the DSE, fell by 54.14 points and is now standing at 5,283 points.

In addition, the DSES index dropped by 14.91 points to 1,134 points, while the DS-30 index decreased by 18.49 points to stand at 2,033 points.

Today, shares and units worth Tk 530.18 crore were traded on the DSE. In the previous trading session, the transaction value was Tk 611.87 crore.

A total of 398 companies’ shares and units were traded on the DSE during the day. Among the participating companies, 72 saw price increases, while 282 experienced price declines. Prices of 34 companies’ shares and units remained unchanged.
