The unanimous decision was made during a special meeting held on Saturday (October 11, 2025) at the press club auditorium, chaired by Club President Farazi Rafique Babon, with the presence of two-thirds of the general members.

In accordance with the club’s constitution, the convening committee was tasked with overseeing the club’s overall activities and organizing the upcoming election. The newly formed committee includes:

Convener: Zahidul Huda Farhad (Daily Ittefaq)

Members: Halim Khan (NTV), Abdul Hakim (Desh Rupantor), Mahbub Hossain (Ekhon TV), and Atikul Islam Liton (Sarabangla)

It was decided that the convening committee will form an election commission within 45 days and organize elections for a new executive committee as per the constitution, after which power will be formally handed over to the elected body.

Members of the press club expressed gratitude to the outgoing executive committee for their leadership and contributions, acknowledging that their dedication helped uphold the club’s reputation and tradition.

Congratulating the new convening committee, members voiced their hope that it will play a vital role in electing a democratic leadership with responsibility, unity, and transparency. They pledged full cooperation with the committee.
