BM Desk

On the third trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed with a positive movement in its key index, although overall turnover declined compared to the previous session.

According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX increased by 10.32 points, ending the day at 5,347 points. The DSES Index gained 1.81 points to reach 1,152, while the DS30 Index edged up by 0.67 points, settling at 2,072.

Despite the upward trend in indices, total turnover dropped to Tk 467.59 crore, down from Tk 544.78 crore in the previous session.

A total of 395 companies saw their shares and units traded during the day. Among them:

  • 233 companies’ share prices increased
  • 101 declined, and
  • 61 remained unchanged

Market analysts say the index’s recovery signals improving investor sentiment, though low turnover reflects cautious trading behavior amid current economic and policy developments.
