Bangladesh received $1.903 billion in remittances during the first 20 days of September 2025, according to Bangladesh Bank. This marks a $289 million increase from the same period last year, when $1.614 billion was received.
From July to September 20 of the current 2025–26 fiscal year, total remittance inflow stood at $6.803 billion, showing an 18.3% year-on-year growth compared to $5.752 billion during the same period last fiscal year.
In July alone, Bangladesh received $2.479 billion in remittances (approximately BDT 30,239 crore), followed by $2.422 billion in August.
The highest monthly remittance in the last fiscal year (2024–25) was recorded in March, at $3.29 billion. Total remittance for that fiscal year reached $30.33 billion — a 26.8% increase from $23.91 billion in FY 2023–24.
Analysts credit the growth to government incentives and easier remittance channels, which continue to support the positive trend in inward foreign income.
