Meghna Life Proposes 15% Cash Dividend for 2024

Meghna Life Insurance’s 29th Annual General Meeting approves 15% cash dividend for the year 2024.

The 29th Annual General Meeting of Meghna Life Insurance PLC was held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM on a virtual platform. The meeting unanimously approved a 15% cash dividend for the general shareholders.

The meeting, chaired by the Honorable Chairman of the company, Nizam Uddin Ahmed, was attended virtually by Vice Chairman Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel), Directors Riaz Uddin Ahmed, A.N.M. Fazlul Karim Munshi, Md. Moin Uddin, Sabita Ferdousi, Sharmin Nasir, Dilruba Sharmin and Professor Ansar Ali, along with other directors and Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Mohammad Tarek FCS. The Annual General Meeting was presided over by AMD and Company Secretary Enamul Haque.

Meghna Life Insurance PLC earned a total premium of Tk 336 crore in 2024. The company’s current total assets are Tk 1,799 crore. The company paid Tk 363.50 crore in insurance claims in 2024. The company’s gross margin in 2024 was Tk 1.61 and net margin in 2024 was Tk 1.50.

In his speech at the annual general meeting, the chairman of the company, Nizam Uddin Ahmed, said that since the start of operations, Meghna Life has paid insurance claims worth Tk 4,150 crore in the past years and in 2024, it has paid a total of about Tk 364 crore, including Tk 8.18 crore for customer death claims, Tk 101.12 crore for installment insurance benefits, Tk 166.02 crore for maturity claims, Tk 8.05 crore for surrender claims and Tk 80.02 crore for bonus. This statement shows that Meghna Life is committed to paying claims.
Finally, the chairman of the company, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory bodies and all levels of officers/employees of the company, insurance workers, policyholders and shareholders for adopting a proper action plan for 2025 and for the continuous success of the company.
