Aftab Feni Correspondent: The inauguration and reception meeting for the newly elected committee of the Sonagazi Press Club took place.
The chief guest at the event, which was held at the Upazila Conference Hall on Thursday (July 31), was Rigyan Chakma, the newly appointed Executive Officer of Sonagazi Upazila.
He remarked, “Journalists serve as the mirror of society. Investigative and topical news unveils the true nature of society. The administration’s tasks are facilitated by the writings of media professionals.”
The guest of honor was AKM Abdur Rahim, the founding president of the Sonagazi Press Club and a former president of the Feni Press Club.
Special guests included Bayezid Akon, Officer-in-Charge of Sonagazi Model Police Station, Zahirul Alam Zahir, Chairman of Nawabpur Union, Nurul Amin, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, and Abdul Hakim, Principal of Osmania Alim Madrasa.
The meeting was chaired by Press Club President Shahidul Islam and moderated by General Secretary Abdur Rahim. Speakers included former Press Club President Syed Monir, Obaidul Haque, Mehrab Hossain Mehedi, Gazi Md. Hanif, Zahirul Haque Sajib, Aftab Hossain Momin, Vice Presidents Ilias Sumon, Nurul Alam, former Vice President M. Nasir Uddin, Joint Secretary Molla Md. Ilias, Treasurer Hedayet Ullah Bhuiyan, Executive Member Kamal Uddin, and Members Mamun Patwari and Shahidul Islam Mamun, among others.
At the conclusion of the meeting, founding president AKM Abdur Rahim, outgoing president Mehrab Hossain, and general secretary Ilias Sumon were honored and presented with mementos.
