Tabarak Lakshmipur Correspondent: A delegation from the Air Force Chief visited the grave of Sayan Yusuf, who tragically lost his life in a training plane crash at Milestone School and College located in Dhaka’s Uttara area, and laid floral tributes. Subsequently, they conveyed their condolences to the family members of the student.
The Air Force honored Sayan at his burial site in Bashikpur village of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila at approximately 1:30 pm on Tuesday (July 29). Following the visit, prayers were held for the peace of Sayan’s soul.
The tribute was conducted under the guidance of Wing Commander Rezaul Haque from the Air Force’s Chittagong Zahurul Haque Air Base. The late Sayan’s father, AFM Yusuf, who is an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at Milestone College Branch, was present during the ceremony.
AFM Yusuf expressed that the family has yet to come to terms with the loss of their son. He requested prayers from everyone so that they may return to a sense of normalcy soon.
Wing Commander Rezaul Haque stated, “On behalf of all members, including the Air Chief, we have come to Sayan’s grave to pay our respects. We extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his family.”
Regarding the local aviation training, he mentioned that an investigation committee has been established to look into the incident. Following the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken by higher authorities.
It is noteworthy that Sayan from Lakshmipur passed away after suffering burns in a training plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara on the afternoon of July 21, while he was receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Sayan was the son of Pal Bari from Bashikpur village in Bashikpur union of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila. His father, AFM Yusuf, is an assistant professor in the chemistry department at Milestone College branch, and his mother, Shamima Shammi, is a chemistry teacher at Milestone School branch. Reports indicate that they resided in a rented house in Sector 10, Uttara.
