NCC Bank Celebrates International MSME Day

On the occasion of International MSME (Micro, Small, Medium and Cottage Industries) Day, NCC Bank organized a customer gathering. The event featured an awareness workshop on CMSME financing, open loan disbursements, the unveiling of the SME Visa Multi-Currency Debit Card, the launch of the “NCC Always” app for CMSME customers, and the introduction of “QR Code and Chatbot” facilities.

The event, chaired by NCC Bank’s Managing Director, M. Shamsul Arefin, was attended by Nawshad Mustafa, Director of the SME & Special Programs Department at Bangladesh Bank; NCC Bank’s Additional Managing Director M. Khurshed Alam; Deputy Managing Directors Md. Mahbub Alam, Md. Zakir Anam, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman and Md. Monirul Alam; Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Director, and Rahima Khatun, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank’s SME & Special Programs Department; NCC Bank’s SVP & Head of SME Sharif Mohammad Mahsin; SVP & Head of Sustainable & Women’s Banking Nighat Mumtaz; SVP of ICT Division Md. Sajjadul Islam; Head of Transaction Banking & Cash Management Shahin Akter Nuha; along with relevant branch managers, SME entrepreneurs, and customers.

NCC Bank’s Additional Managing Director M. Khurshed Alam stated that the CMSME sector contributes approximately 25% of the country’s total production and is a major driver of the rural economy. He emphasized the importance of financial inclusion for the development of the SME sector and provided guidance to the bank’s relevant officials on this matter.

Bangladesh Bank’s Director of SME & Special Programs Department, Nawshad Mustafa, highlighted the significance of CMSMEs in the country’s economy and mentioned the steps taken by Bangladesh Bank to remove obstacles and expand the sector. He praised NCC Bank’s growth and progress in financing the CMSME sector and called for increased investment in this area.

Managing Director M. Shamsul Arefin emphasized the importance of CMSME financing for sustainable development in the current context and noted the SME sector’s contribution to the country’s economic development. He stated, “NCC Bank is continuously working to meet the needs of MSME customers.” He mentioned that the bank has already launched four new specialized products/services for SME customers: “NCC Commercial Building Loan,” “NCC Commercial Vehicle Loan,” “NCC Supply Chain Finance,” and “NCC SME Business Account.” On this International MSME Day, he announced the open loan disbursements, the unveiling of the SME Visa Multi-Currency Debit Card, the launch of the “NCC Always” app for CMSME customers, and the introduction of the “QR Code and Chatbot” facilities. He also outlined plans to launch customized product services for CMSME customers in the future.
