B Mirror Desk: A special documentary screening and discussion meeting was held at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra auditorium in the capital on Saturday to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the historic Farakka Long March. The program also commemorate of the oppressed leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani. The discussants highlighted the importance of Maulana Bhashani’s philosophy of life-nature-Rabubiyat in the context of the Farakka Long March, saying it is relevant to the current Bangladesh and global realities. Poet and statesman Farhad Mazhar, Bhashani researcher and filmmaker in India Soumitra Dastidar, Bangladesh-China Friendship Association president Nazmul Haque, Riverine People secretary general Sheikh Rokon, liberation war guerrilla leader Dr. MM Shafiqul Islam Kanu and Bhashani Parishad convener Kazi Iftekhar Hossain spoke on the occasion.
