On May 19, 2025, the UAE CEO’s office and Abu Dhabi branch of Janata Bank PLC officially commenced operations in their new facility. A significant ceremony and customer gathering marked this event. The activities in the new building were inaugurated by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the UAE, Tarek Ahmed, alongside Janata Bank PLC’s Chairman Muhd Fazlur Rahman and Managing Director Md. Mujibur Rahman, who performed the ribbon and cake cutting. Present at the event were Deputy Head of the Embassy Shahnaz Akhter Ranu, Councilor Saiful Islam, UAE Janata Bank PLC’s CEO Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Abu Dhabi Regional Manager Shahadat Hossain, and other esteemed guests. Ambassador Tarek Ahmed emphasized the need to enhance remittance flow through Janata Bank and improve customer service quality and reach. During the event, Chairman Muhd Fazlur Rahman announced the installation of 13 ATM booths across various locations in the UAE. Additionally, Managing Director Md. Mujibur Rahman revealed the launch of Janata Bank’s online banking services and mobile app banking in the UAE, urging expatriates to utilize legal channels for remittance transfers.
