Together we forge a new Bangladesh: CA

B Mirror Desk: Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser, urged everyone to seize the chance to create a nation free from discrimination. “Shubha Nababarsha,” which means “happy new year” in Bangla, was how the chief adviser started his remarks. In his succinct three-minute statement, he declared that today was the new Bangladesh’s first Pahela Baishakh, or the first day of the Bangla calendar.

Let us advance with renewed energy and determination, leaving behind the shame, pain, and negativity of the past. Together, we can forge a new Bangladesh.

Muhammad Yunus emphasizes that the upcoming opportunities in 2024 offer a chance to eliminate discrimination in this new Bangladesh. “We must not let this opportunity slip away.”

The chief adviser called for a resolution this New Year to construct a Bangladesh devoid of discrimination. He began his address by highlighting that the Bangla calendar aligns with the agricultural cycle, which farmers in Bangladesh continue to follow for their farming activities.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner remarked that Pahela Baishakh is a vital aspect of Bangali culture and heritage, providing everyone with a chance to celebrate Bangalee traditions during the festivities.

Professor Yunus noted that both the hill and plain ethnic communities are coming together to celebrate this year’s Chaitra Shankranti and Pahela Baishakh.

Pahela Baishakh symbolizes friendship and harmony. “Today is a day to welcome everyone as part of our community.”

He expressed his best wishes for all initiatives celebrating Pahela Baishakh, extended greetings of Shubha Nababarsha, and hoped for peace and prosperity for all during his brief three-minute address broadcast earlier today.
