7 stakeholders including DSE-CSE in a meeting with the BSEC chairman

A meeting has begun on the situation created within the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the regulatory body of the Bangladesh Stock Exchange (BSEC), regarding the situation among the officials and employees.

It is being held at the Securities Commission building in Agargaon, the capital, at 11 am on Sunday (March 9). BSEC Chairman Khandaker Rashed Maqsood and stakeholders related to the stock market are present in the meeting.

Representatives of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), DSE Brokers Association (DBA), Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA), top brokerage houses, Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL), and Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited (CCBL) are participating in the meeting.

Earlier, the concerned representatives entered the commission building at around 10:30 am.

It is worth noting that on March 5, several officials and employees of the organization tried to block the BSEC chairman and commissioners and demand their demands. Later, law enforcement officers rescued them.

After this incident, gunman Ashiqur Rahman, who was assigned to the security of BSEC chairman Khandaker Rashed Maqsood, filed a case against 16 BSEC officials. After a complaint was filed at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in the capital on Thursday, it was registered as a case. Which is currently under investigation.
