Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees’ Union (CBA-485) on Monday observed July Mass Uprising Day 2026 with a discussion meeting, prayer session and a children’s art exhibition at the bank’s head office in Dhaka.

The programme was organised to commemorate the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising, the Year of Mourning and Victory 2026. The exhibition featured artworks created by children of Bangladesh Krishi Bank employees

Chief Coordinator of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain, Bangladesh Krishi Bank Chairman Mohammad Nurul Amin, Managing Director Sanchia Binte Ali, Bangladesh Banks Employees’ Federation President Md. Rafiqul Islam, and Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal Publicity and Publications Secretary Manjurul Islam, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Shimul Biswas highlighted the significance of the July Mass Uprising and paid tribute to the students and citizens who sacrificed their lives in the movement for democracy, justice and the protection of people’s rights. He urged all to play a responsible role in advancing the nation.

Bangladesh Krishi Bank Chairman Mohammad Nurul Amin described the July Mass Uprising as a landmark event in the country’s history. He called on the bank’s officers and employees to uphold the spirit of the movement by performing their duties with honesty, transparency, accountability and professionalism.

Managing Director Sanchia Binte Ali stressed the importance of improving customer service, expanding technology-based banking services and supporting agricultural development in line with the ideals of the uprising.

The programme was chaired by Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees’ Union (CBA) President Faiz Uddin Ahmed, who is also an executive member of the Dhaka Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal. The keynote address was delivered by the union’s General Secretary, Md. Miraj Hossain, an executive member of the Dhaka South unit of the organisation.

Following the discussion, a special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace for those who lost their lives in the July Mass Uprising, speedy recovery for the injured, and peace, prosperity and overall well-being of the country.
