The market capitalization fell by Tk 2658 crore in the last week

The price index of the nation’s main capital market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), saw erratic responses over the course of the previous week, from January 5 to January 9. The DSE’s trading volume rose by Tk 3,404.9 million during the previous week. Conversely, the market capitalization shrank.

The DSE’s trading volume grew in tandem with the index’s rise and fall. Over the course of the week, Tk 1,732.97 million worth of trading took place on the DSE. The previous week’s total trading volume was Tk 1,392.48 million. In just one week, the trading volume rose by Tk 3,404.9 million.

The DSE’s market capitalization dropped by Tk 2,658 million, or 0.40 percent, during the course of the week. The DSE’s market capitalization was Tk 6,60,293 million on the final working day of the current week. This capital was Tk 6,62,951 million as of the previous week’s last working day.

This week, two DSE indices dropped. The primary price index, the DSEX, decreased by 0.10 percent, or 5.19 points. Furthermore, there was a 6.70 point or 0.135 percent decline in the DSE-30 index. Additionally, the DSES index rose by 0.59 percent, or 6.84 points.

In the meantime, there was a 0.44 percent, or 1 crore 53 lakh taka, decrease in the average transaction per working day. This week, the DSE traded 346 crore 59 lakh taka on average per working day. In the previous week, the average daily transaction was 348 crore 12 lakh taka.

Throughout the week, 398 companies’ shares and mutual fund units were traded on the DSE. Of them, 50 companies’ share prices stayed the same, 208 saw price decreases, and 140 saw price increases.
