The governor of Bangladesh Bank, Dr. Ahsan H. Munsur, said that efforts are underway to repatriate the money of those who took their money and fled the country.
He said, “We still have very high inflation.” It needs to be taken down. Hopefully, it will be possible to bring it back to normal levels by June. In his role as chief guest, he made these statements on Saturday, December 28, during the 400th branch opening ceremony of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC in Ghatail, Tangail.
He added that the bank is not a private company or one that is run by a family. Everyone has access to it. Every depositor owns a portion of the bank. Of the ten banks that were on the verge of failure, most are currently doing quite well.
Professor Muhammad Abdus Samad presented the paper, Managing Director Muhammad Monirul Moula gave the welcome speech, and Chairman of Bangladesh Islami Bank PLC Obaid Ullah Al Masud presided over it.
