Govt landphone connection available online, fee scraped

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) is now offering new customers connection without any fee as part of marking “Mujib Year”

The BTCL also has introduced online application aiming strengthen digitized phone services.

Anyone can apply for new connection online visiting www.telesheba.gov.bd or downloading and installing “Telesheba” app from google play store, a BTCL official claimed.

“The state-owned company is offering connection free of cost across the country to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he added.

BTCL said it would soon introduce online payment system to get rid of its customers from physical cash deposit in bank.

BTCL hopes the customers would be facilitated by this service in this COVID-19 pandemic gripped situation.
