AKM Shafiqul Islam Julhas, the owner of Scarf Agro Private Limited, has been arrested by the Sadar Thana police in Jamalpur district. He was a loan defaulter at the Bakshiganj branch of Padma Bank Plc.
The arrest was made on Sunday, 27th October with the help of the bank’s Special force & Bakshiganj Branch. Julhas had been evading arrest for over a year after a warrant was issued against him on October 8, 2023 by the Joint Sessions Judge and Judge Finance Court of Jamalpur. He owes Twenty-three crore eighty-three lakh taka to Padma Bank Plc.
