Everyone’s dream is Capital market will a focal point of the country’s economy: BSEC Chairman.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud said that the country’s capital market will be a source of long-term financing. He said that it is everyone’s dream that the capital market will be the center of the country’s economy.
He said this at a discussion meeting organized with the new board members and top officials of CSE held at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) office on Monday (October 21).
The BSEC chairman said that all stakeholders involved in the capital market should work together in order to build a prosperous and successful capital market. The problems that exist in the capital market need to be solved.
He said that it is everyone’s dream that the capital market will be the focal point of the country’s economy and at the same time a source of long-term financing.
Khandkar Rashed Maqsood said, the most important thing is reform. This reform work cannot be done alone. That’s why everyone’s opinion is being taken and gradually this reform will be done in a systematic way within the laws and rules.
In the meeting, a presentation was given detailing the current status, future prospects, challenges, to-dos etc. of CSE along with its current infrastructure, manpower, activities.

Apart from this, other officials of BSEC and new board members formed under the leadership of newly appointed chairman of CSE AKM Habibur Rahman, CSE managing director M Saifur Rahman Majumder and top officials of CSE were present.
