Whether the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is increasing or decreasing in the current month of September will be known on Monday (September 2). New price of LPG will be announced for one month on this day.
This information was informed in a circular of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Sunday (September 1).
It said that BERC’s instructions on price adjustment of private LPG at the consumer level for this month will be announced at 3 pm on Monday as per the Saudi CP announced by Saudi Aramco for the month of September (2024).
Earlier, on August 4, at the consumer level, the price of 12 kg cylinder for the month of August was fixed at Tk 1,377, up by Tk 11 compared to July. And last July it was increased by 3 taka. At that time, the price of 12 kg cylinder was fixed at 1 thousand 366 taka.
However, last June and May, the price of 12 kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 30 and Tk 49 to Tk 1,363 and Tk 1,393 respectively. And after 8 consecutive months of increase, LPG prices were reduced on April 3 at the consumer level. Compared to the month of March, the price of 12 kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 40 to Tk 1,442 in April. Besides, the price of 12 kg cylinder was increased by 8 taka to 1 thousand 482 taka in March, 41 taka increased to 1 thousand 474 taka in February and 29 taka increased to 1 thousand 433 taka in January.
