The market capitalization increased by Tk 6000 crores in last week.

The country’s main stock exchange, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), saw an average turnover of one-fourth in the outgoing week (August 25 to August 29) compared to the previous week. Besides, the capital has increased by more than 6 thousand crore taka during the discussion period. At the same time positive trend has been seen in all DSE indicators.

According to sources, an average of Tk 624 crore 41 lakh was transacted on DSE every working day throughout the week. In the previous week, the average daily transaction was Tk 792 crore 54 lakh. That is, the average transaction per working day has increased by 26.93 percent or 168 crore 13 lakh taka.

According to the data, the market capitalization of DSE at the end of the week stood at Tk 6 lakh 99 thousand 581 crore 54 lakh. The market capitalization on the last working day of last week was 692 thousand 831 crore 80 lakh taka. In other words, the market capitalization of DSE has increased by 97 percent or 6 thousand 749 crores within a week.

During the outgoing week, the total transaction in DSE was Tk 3 thousand 170 crore 18 lakh. Last week the total transaction was Tk 3 thousand 122 crore 5 lakh. That is, the transaction has increased by Tk 48 crore 13 lakh within a week.

The DSE index showed a positive trend during the week under review. At this time, the main price index DSEX increased by 104.50 points. DSE-30 index increased by 34.12 points. And the DSES index increased by 22.18 points.

A total of 397 company shares and mutual fund units were traded on DSE during the week. Among them, 293 companies have increased, 86 companies have decreased and 18 companies have remained unchanged.
