CReLIC of LGED conducts climate awareness training in Satkhira

Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CReLIC), implemented through Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIM) under Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) conducted a day-long training on climate change and awareness among college level students at Al-Baraka Pizza Milan Party Center in Satkhira city. Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CReLIC, Abdul Hakim attended the training program as the chief guest.

While inaugurating the training, Abdul Hakim said that taking training during the student period helps to develop self-confidence, leadership development, team skills, personal discipline, development of thinking, creating awareness, personal and social quality of life. As a result, later college-university and career will help to make climate and service conscious citizens. He called on the students to deal with climate change and disaster, adapt to adverse environments and increase their capacity besides regular reading and writing.

Satkhira District LGED Executive Engineer Kamruz Zaman presided over the training program. Jabed Hossain, senior assistant engineer of Satkhira District LGED, was present at the time. 100 students from five public and private colleges in Satkhira district participated in the training. Banda Hafiz, training expert of LGED-CReLIC, climate expert Farooq Biswas and public relations and marketing specialist Syed Mahbub Ahsan were present as trainers in the training workshop.
