The Election Commission (EC) has moved 71 additional officials in preparation for the national elections. The transfer order, which was signed by EC Secretariat Assistant Secretary Mohammad Shahidur Rahman, was issued on Sunday (July 27) by the President.
It has been stated that the officials who have been transferred are expected to leave their current positions by August 3; otherwise, they will be deemed to have been released immediately on August 4. The majority of the 71 election officials being transferred are upazila or thana election officers.
Furthermore, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, the Assistant Director of the Election Training Institute in Dhaka, has been assigned as Assistant Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat.
Conversely, Syeda Sadika Sultana, the Election Officer for Comilla Adarsh Sadar Upazila, has been appointed as Assistant Director of the Election Training Institute in Dhaka.
