Thirty-nine meritorious students from various departments under the Faculty of Arts of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded Centenary Trust Fund Scholarships.

DU Vice-Chancellor A S M Maksud Kamal distributed the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday, according to a press release.

Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, DU Treasurer, presided over the event, and Abdul Basir, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, attended as a special guest.

Fatema Kawser, the Chairperson of the Bangla Department, and Abu Delwar Hossain, the Chairperson of the History Department, both delivered speeches at the event. Probir Kumar Sarker, DU Registrar, oversaw the proceedings.
