On the second working day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), which is the country’s primary stock market, concluded trading with an increase in the price index. Additionally, the volume of transactions in taka also saw an uptick. Among the companies involved in today’s transactions, the share prices of 242 companies experienced a rise.
This information was disclosed by sources from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
As per the source, on Monday (August 18), the DSE’s main index, ‘DSEX’, rose by 18.42 points, bringing the index to a current level of 5,419 points.
Furthermore, the DSE’s other index, ‘DSES’, increased by 11.95 points to reach 1,184 points, while the ‘DS-30′ index saw a rise of 5.89 points, reaching 2,101 points.
Today, shares and units valued at Tk 975.85 crore were traded on the DSE, compared to Tk 801.71 crore on the previous working day.
A total of 400 companies’ shares and units were exchanged on the DSE today. Among the companies involved in the transactions, 242 saw their prices increase, while 94 experienced a decrease. The share and unit prices of 64 companies remained stable.
