Abhaynagar (Jashore) Correspondent: Under the incentive program for the 2025–26 Rabi season, the distribution of seeds and fertilizers for wheat, mustard, lentil, winter onion, sunflower, and pigeon pea crops has been inaugurated in Abhaynagar, Jashore. A total of 2,340 farmers from the upazila and Noapara municipality received these agricultural inputs free of cost.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday (November 2) at the Upazila Parishad premises, organized by the Abhaynagar Upazila Administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE). The event was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sheikh Salauddin Dipu. Among others present were Upazila BNP President Farazi Matiar Rahman, Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Lovely Khatun, and Agricultural Extension Officer Sheikh Taiyebur Rahman.
Speaking at the event, Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Lovely Khatun said that among the 2,340 farmers, 110 received 20 kg of wheat seeds, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer, and 10 kg of DAP fertilizer each. In addition, 2,100 farmers received 1 kg of mustard seeds each, 20 farmers received 1 kg of winter onion seeds each, and another 20 farmers received 1 kg of sunflower seeds each — along with 10 kg of MOP and 10 kg of DAP fertilizers per person.
She further added that 80 farmers received 5 kg of lentil seeds each along with 10 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP fertilizers, while 10 farmers received 2 kg of pigeon pea (Arhar) seeds each, along with 5 kg of MOP and 5 kg of DAP fertilizers per person.
