2 Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent : Two people, including a farmer, were killed in separate road accidents in Gopalganj. The incidents occurred on Monday (October 13) morning in Gobra area of Sadar Upazila and on Sunday (October 12) night in Dakshin Phukra of Kashiani Upazila.

The deceased have been identified as Nannu Molla (48), a farmer, and an unidentified woman (around 45). Nannu Molla was the son of Sonamia Molla from Bedgram area of the town. Police have not yet been able to confirm the identity of the deceased woman.

The incidents were confirmed by Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, and Md. Maksudur Rahman Murad, OC of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station.

According to OC Sajedur Rahman, farmer Nannu Molla was seriously injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road in Gobra area in the morning. Locals rescued him and admitted him to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.

In the other incident, OC Maksudur Rahman Murad stated that on Saturday morning (October 11), an unidentified woman was critically injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Dakshin Phukra area of Kashiani Upazila. She was rescued by locals and taken to the same hospital, where she died on Sunday night while receiving treatment.
