10 companies hold 26 percent of weekly transactions

Shares and units worth Tk 3,339 crore 86 lakh were traded in the main Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week (August 4-8). Out of this, 26.18 percent was traded in the shares of only 10 companies.

Securities of 397 companies were traded during the week under review. Among them, 26.18 percent of the total transactions were in shares of the top 10 companies.

British American Tobacco is the most traded among the top 10 companies. The company has an average daily transaction of Tk 34 crore 73 lakh, which is 4.16 percent of the week’s total transactions.

Among other top traded companies on DSE last week – Square Pharma at 3.41 percent, City Bank at 3.08 percent, Unilever Consumer at 2.95 percent, BRAC Bank at 2.69 percent, Techno Drugs at 2.50 percent, Uttara Bank 2. 18 percent, Sea Pearl 1.84 percent, Trust Bank 1.83 percent and Robi 1.54 percent were traded.
