Sonargaon Correspondent: Police have arrested a youth with a foreign revolver loaded with 8 rounds of bullets in Sonargaon, Narayanganj. The name of the arrested youth is

Ali Akbar Khan (30). The arrested youth is the son of Abdus Sattar Khan, former chairman of Imampur Union Parishad in Gazaria Upazila of Munshiganj district.

Police arrested the young man during a search operation at the Meghna Toll Plaza area under Sonargaon Upazila in Narayanganj on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at 3:45 am on Friday.

Sonargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mofizur Rahman said that while searching a checkpoint on the highway, a young man riding a motorcycle became suspicious. During the search, the police recovered a revolver with 8 rounds of bullets.

He also said that after completing the legal proceedings against the young man, he was sent to court on Saturday afternoon for a seven-day remand.
