Who bears the blame for the capital market’s instability?

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, the interim government’s financial advisor, has stated that regulators and participants bear the majority of the blame for the instability in the capital market. At the sixth edition of the Banking Almanac’s publication ceremony on Saturday in the capital’s CIRDAP auditorium, he said these things.

Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said, BSEC has been asked to publish the information as it is. There is no issue of rigging here. The situation in the capital market is the same as our banking and financial sector. You are buying Z category shares, which do not exist. Yet you are buying these shares with great joy. There is no minimum price, these will be used as waste paper after a few days. You will have to suffer a little for this. I do not blame the investors. There are many shortcomings of the capital market players and regulators. I think it is necessary to Published this.

The financial advisor said, “We have not come to show any power, we have come with a responsibility. There are various gaps in the information of the last 15 years. There have been attempts to hide the information. We are trying to change and reform it. Because donor agencies ask us various questions, they want to explain that it was less before, etc. We are explaining to them that the previous information was hidden, we are presenting the correct one.”

He further said, “We are trying to create a national single window. So that traders can get all the information from one place. Traders will not have to run to 10 places for information. If we cannot manage information more coherently, more problems will arise in the future. We do not need this false information, because dear lies are painful.”

Chairman of Banking Almanac and former advisor to the caretaker government Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman presided over the program, with Finance Secretary Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Majumder and Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Nurun Nahar as special guests. Bangladesh Association (ABB) Chairman and Dhaka Bank Chairman Abdul Hai Sikder, former ABB Chairman Nurul Amin, Executive Director of the book Syed Zia Uddin Ahmed, Abder Rahman and others speaking.

Finance Secretary Dr. Khairuzzaman Majumder said, “We are trying to restore order in the sectors. We seek the cooperation of development partners to restore order in the financial sector. So that there is no chaos. We have already made changes in various boards.”
