The country’s leading air-conditioner brand Walton’ has launched the world’s most environment-friendly new models of ecOzone series AC. The new model ACs are featured with R290 gas which is a class A3 natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with a low environmental impact. In Bangladesh, only Walton manufactures and markets R290 refrigerant-enriched ACs. Along with the most environment-friendly feature, Walton’s ecOzone series new model ACs are also highly energy efficient and certified by Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
Centering the occasion of World Ozone Day 2024, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam launched WSI-KRYSTALINE (ecOzone) series new model AC at a grand launching programme held at Walton Corporate Office in the capital on Sunday (September 15, 2024) morning. BSTI’s Director General SM Ferdaus Alam, Department of Environment’s Director Ziaul Hoque, UNDP Bangladesh’s Program Specialist Arif Mohammad Faisal, BSTI’s Director Nurul Amin and Deputy Director Engr. Mobin ul Islam, BUET Professor Dr. Ali Ahammad Shoukat Choudhury, GIZ Bangladesh’s Implementation Manager Shanin Muntaha, UNDP Bangladesh Project Manager Mobarak Hossain Sajid, Finance Associate Bahadur Hossain and Administrative Assistant Ziaul Hasan attended the function as special guests. Among others, Walton Plaza’s Managing Director Mohammad Rayhan, Walton Hi- Tech’s Additional Managing Director Nazrul Islam Sarker and Eva Rizwana Nilu, Deputy Managing Director Yousuf Ali, Walton AC’s Deputy CBO Sandip Biswas, Walton’s Chief Marketing Officer Ghalib Bin Mohammad and senior officials of the company were also present. At the function, Walton Hi-Tech’s Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam said, ‘We always emphasize the production of environment-friendly and energy-efficient green technology products.
Therefore, we have developed an environment-friendly manufacturing process at Walton Hi-Tech Park. In collaboration with the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry, Department of Environment and UNDP, Walton has implemented several projects to protect the environment. Walton is the first in Bangladesh to manufacture the most environment-friendly R- 290 refrigerant enriched ACs.” He also said, Walton has already stopped the use of harmful CFC and HCFC gas in ACs. As a result, Bangladesh moved ahead towards environment protection compared to many developed countries.
