Walton Introduces AI-Driven “AI Doctor” Feature for Smart Fridges

Walton, the leading brand in Bangladesh’s refrigerator market, has unveiled an innovative artificial intelligence-based “AI Doctor” feature, developed by the Walton Research and Innovation (R&I) Center. This new technology is designed to enhance the performance and reliability of Walton’s smart fridges.

The “AI Doctor” system can automatically analyze the performance of Walton Smart Fridges, detect potential issues, and predict possible component failures. If the system identifies a problem, it attempts to resolve it autonomously. If it fails to fix the issue, the “AI Doctor” notifies the nearest service center and provides customer contact information. The service center then reviews the AI-generated root cause analysis and dispatches experts to the customer’s location for prompt service.

Walton is the first company in Bangladesh to introduce this advanced AI system in IoT (Internet of Things)-enabled smart refrigerators. The feature was launched at a ceremony held at Walton’s Corporate Office in Dhaka on Sunday, attended by senior Walton officials including Mohammad Rayhan, Managing Director of Walton Plaza, and Nazrul Islam Sarker, Additional Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries.

Tahasinul Haque, Chief Business Officer of Walton Fridge, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering world-class products and exceptional after-sales service. He emphasized that the AI Doctor feature, a result of nearly two years of research by Walton’s R&I team, represents a significant milestone in smart refrigerator technology in Bangladesh.

Azmal Ferdous Bappi, Head of Walton Fridge R&I Center, explained that the AI Doctor feature leverages data from various sensors in the smart fridge. When connected to Wi-Fi, the AI system analyzes sensor data and attempts to correct any deviations from normal performance. If the system cannot resolve the issue, it alerts the nearest service center, ensuring customers receive timely maintenance before they even notice a problem.

Existing users of Walton’s IoT-based smart fridges will automatically benefit from the AI Doctor feature once their appliances are connected to the internet. Currently, Walton manufactures and markets five models of smart fridges domestically, with plans to introduce six new models later this year.

Walton fridge customers enjoy a one-year replacement warranty, a 12-year guarantee on compressors, and five years of free after-sales service. Over 80 ISO-certified service centers across Bangladesh provide swift and efficient support.
