UGC recommends implementation of digital administration systems in universities

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recommended that universities create a digital administration system in order to create Smart Bangladesh by 2041.

As part of the execution of UGC’s 2023–24 fiscal year e-governance and innovation action plan, member Sajjad Hossain proposed this idea as the chief guest at the workshop on education, research, and innovation in creating a smart Bangladesh.

The full-day workshop was organized by UGC’s innovation team. The Director of Research Support and Publication Department of the Commission, Fakhrul Islam, chaired the programme with expert discussion led by Dean Hafiz Hasan Babu of Dhaka University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

According to Sajjad Hossain, the university should create a digital administration system as part of the establishment of Smart Bangladesh. creation of a paperless office where all business will be conducted online.
