B.Mirror Desk: United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has achieved a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey as its Agri Rural Fast Loan (ARFL) initiative has been named Champion Project of the Year, Information Technology (Medium Category) at the Bangladesh Project Management Symposium & Awards 2026.
The event was recently organized by the Project Management Institute (PMI), Bangladesh Chapter, at a hotel in the capital. State Minister of Planning Md. Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki attended the event as Chief Guest. Deputy Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer of UCB Md. Abdullah Al Mamoon was present at the event along with other senior officials of the Bank.
ARFL represents UCB’s commitment to making financing faster, simpler and more accessible through technology. The initiative is designed to facilitate agricultural loan disbursement to eligible farmers within a single day.
The recognition of ARFL represents an important milestone in UCB’s broader digital transformation journey and showcases the capabilities of UCB ONE- UCB’s Core digital banking platform and technology foundation for delivering integrated, scalable and customer-centric financial services.
Commenting on the recognition, UCB highlighted the award as a proud milestone for the Bank specially an agriculture and rural entrepreneurship initiative and an affirmation of its ongoing efforts to harness digital innovation for more efficient and inclusive financial services.
