Two more commissioners of BSEC resigned.

After the resignation of the chairman of the capital market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), two more commissioners have resigned. They are – Professor Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed and Dr. Rumana Islam.

They have already submitted their resignations to the Financial Institutions Department.

The recently resigned professor of Finance Department of Dhaka University. Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed joined BSEC as Commissioner on May 20, 2020.

After the formation of BSEC in June 1993, the first woman commissioner of the organization was Professor of Law Department of Dhaka University. Rumana Islam. He completed his graduation in law from Dhaka University in 2003 and post graduation in 2004.

Later, he did his Masters in International Trade Law from Cambridge University, UK. In 2015, he received his PhD on International Law from the University of Warwick, UK. In 2008, he joined the Law Department of Dhaka University as an Assistant Professor.

He joined BSEC as Commissioner on May 8, 2022.

Earlier, BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam resigned on Saturday. He sent his resignation by email on Saturday to the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance.
