B Mirror Report: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved a proposal to revise the coal price mechanism for two coal-fired power plants in Bangladesh, along with fuel payment approvals totaling approximately Tk 176,974 crore.

According to meeting sources, the proposal submitted by the Power Division covers the 2×612 MW SS Power-1 Limited coal-fired power plant in Banshkhali, Chattogram, and the 307 MW Barishal Electric Power Company Limited (BEPCL) coal-fired power plant.
Under the approved proposal, fuel payments of approximately Tk 144,250 crore have been sanctioned for SS Power-1 Limited, while Tk 32,724 crore has been approved for BEPCL.
