Sunamganj Correspondent: Two alleged drug dealers were arrested with 3 kilograms of cannabis during a drive conducted by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in Sunamganj.
According to officials, the operation was carried out around 3:30 pm on Saturday based on confidential information. A team of DNC personnel intercepted a moving rickshaw west of the Abduz Johur Overbridge in Sunamganj town and conducted a search. During the search, they recovered 3 kg of cannabis and arrested the two suspects on the spot.
The arrested individuals were identified as Abdul Kadir, 23, son of Abdul Bari from Lamachania village in Dowarabazar upazila, and Rakibul Hasan, 23, son of Islam Uddin from Ampara village under Jahangirnagar union in Sadar upazila.
Confirming the matter, DNC Sub-Inspector Ataur Rahman Sazib said that a case has been filed with Sadar Model Police Station under Sections 36(1), Schedule 19(a), and 41 of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The accused have been handed over to the police for further legal action.
