Trading volume hits Tk 4.5 billion as index rises

The country’s main capital market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), saw its trading volume exceed Tk 4.5 billion on Wednesday (March 12), the fourth working day of the week, as the price index rose. Most corporations saw a gain in their share prices.

This information was revealed by DSE sources.

According to sources, at the end of DSE trading on the day, the main index ‘DSEX’ rose by 16.76 points to 5,216 points.

The Shariah index “DSES” increased 2.68 points to 1,166 points, while the “DS30” index increased 4.94 points to 1,899 points.

Today, 84 million shares and units worth Tk 4.52 billion were exchanged on the DSE. The previous working day saw the trading of shares valued at Tk 4.12 billion 52 million.

182 of the 397 businesses that traded today saw price increases, 138 saw price decreases, and 77 saw no change in price.
