Trading Volume Falls on Mixed Index Reactions

On Monday (August 11), the second working day of the week, trading concluded with mixed responses in the country’s primary capital market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The share or unit prices of the majority of companies and funds saw a decline. Additionally, trading volume decreased compared to the previous day.

This information was disclosed by sources from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

As per the source, the main index of the DSE, ‘DSEX’, dropped by 06.98 points today, bringing the index to a current level of 5,344 points.

Furthermore, the other index of the DSE, ‘DSES’, decreased by 0.27 points to reach 1,162 points, while the ‘DS-30′ index saw an increase of 0.38 points, now standing at 2,067 points.

Today, shares and units worth Tk 610 crore 86 lakh were traded on the DSE. In comparison, the previous working day recorded a trading volume of Tk 760 crore 64 lakh.

A total of 405 companies’ shares and units were exchanged on the DSE today. Among the companies involved in the transactions, 121 experienced price increases, while 201 saw price declines. Additionally, the prices of shares and units for 83 companies remained stable.
