Trading volume drops to tk 12bn

B Mirror Desk: The country’s main capital market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), saw a trading volume of over Tk 1,200 crore on Sunday (August 24), the first working day of the week, amid mixed reactions in the price indices. However, share prices of most companies declined.

This information was obtained from DSE sources.

According to sources, at the end of DSE trading today, the main index ‘DSEX’ rose 14.20 points to 5,389 points.

Among other indices, the Shariah index ‘DSES’ fell 0.81 points to 1,179 points, while the ‘DS30’ rose 12.16 points to 2,101 points.

A total of 1,200 crore 26 lakh taka of shares and units were traded on the DSE today. Shares worth 766 crore 78 lakh taka were traded on the previous working day.

Of the 400 companies traded today, 184 increased their prices, 190 decreased their prices, and 26 remained unchanged.
