Trading activity on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined on Monday, September 15, despite a slight rise in the key indices. Market sources attribute the lower trading volume to the upward movement of the price index, which coincided with a fall in share prices for most listed companies.
At the close of the session:
- The benchmark DSEX index rose by 6.36 points to 5,474.
- The Shariah index (DSES) gained 0.96 points, reaching 1,186.
- The DS30 index added 5.99 points, ending at 2,135.
Daily turnover stood at Tk 706.32 crore, down from Tk 732.56 crore in the previous session.
Out of 402 companies traded:
- 117 advanced,
- 199 declined, and
- 86 remained unchanged.
