Trading Drops to Tk 611 Crore Amid Index Decline

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the nation’s primary stock exchange, saw a decline in the index after the end of trading on the fourth working day of the week. The overall value of transactions also dropped from the previous trading day.

According to the data, on Wednesday (October 8), the DSE’s key index DSEX dropped by 39.14 points, bringing it down to 5,337 points.

Additionally, the DSES index fell by 12.36 points to 1,149 points, while the DS30 index dropped 13.41 points, settling at 2,051 points.

Today, shares and units worth Tk 611.87 crore were traded on the DSE. In comparison, the previous trading day recorded transactions worth Tk 787.48 crore.

A total of 399 companies’ shares and units were traded. Among the participating firms, the share prices of 105 companies increased, while 221 companies saw price decreases. The prices of 34 companies remained unchanged.
