Three Tangail food businesses fined Tk 100,000

Tangail Correspondent: The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection has fined three food businesses in Tangail a total of Tk 100,000 for various food safety violations.

The fines were imposed during a drive conducted in the Five Ani Bazar and Bara Kalibari Road areas of Tangail town by Assistant Director Asaduzzaman Rumel.

Gopal Mistanna Bhandar was fined Tk 70,000 for altering the expiry dates of its yogurt products and preparing yogurt and sweets in an unhygienic environment.

Sri Krishna Niramish Bhojanalay was fined Tk 20,000 for using prohibited kewra water in food and storing stale food. Adi Induti Doi Ghar was fined Tk 10,000 for preparing food products in an unhygienic environment.

Assistant Director Asaduzzaman Rumel said such drives would continue to ensure safe food for consumers.

Market committee officials and journalists from print and electronic media were present during the operation.
