There are no closed factories owned by Beximco Limited.

The capital market-listed company Beximco Limited has not announced any factory closures or layoffs. Beximco Limited is unrelated to the 16 Beximco Group factories that were recently announced for layoffs. This information was provided by the company in response to a letter from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The Beximco Industrial Park in the Sarab area of Gazipur announced the closure of sixteen of its factories on December 17. This choice was made during the advisory council committee meeting held in the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s meeting room. The meeting was focused on reviewing the labor and business conditions of Beximco’s industrial establishments.

The factories are allegedly closed because there are too many debts in their names and not enough orders for them to be able to operate. For this, 16 companies of Beximco Textile Limited and Garments will be closed from December 16 according to the relevant provisions of the Labor Act.

When the news about this was published in various newspapers, DSE sent a letter to Beximco Limited asking to know about the lot. In response, Beximco Limited said that the said factories are not related to them.

This information is known from DSE sources.
