The Second Highest Stock Market Transaction of the Year

Monday, the second working day of the week, saw an increase in the stock market. As a result, the stock market has been trending upward for the past three working days.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the primary stock market, saw the second-highest trading volume of the year on this particular day. Today, the DSE saw trading of over Tk 544 crore. Prior to this, on February 18, the DSE’s highest trading volume was Tk 599 crore.

Today, along with the increase in the indices, trading also increased in both the stock markets. The prices of companies increased more than the amount that fell on the day.

Today, the main index of the DSE ‘DSEX’ increased by 10.57 points. Currently, the index is at 5,234 points.

In addition, the other index of the DSE ‘DSES’ increased by 3.00 points to 1,169 points and the ‘DS-30’ index increased by 5.44 points to 1,926 points.

Today, shares and units worth Tk 544 crore 28 lakh 39 thousand were traded on the DSE. The previous trading day saw a turnover of Tk 487.57 crore.

Shares and units of a total of 398 companies changed hands on the DSE today. Of the companies participating in the transaction, 173 companies saw their prices increase, while 153 companies saw their prices decrease. In addition, the share and unit prices of 72 companies remained unchanged.
