Mamun Rashid, an economist, has been named chairman of the publicly traded National Tea Company (NTC).
At the company’s most recent 683rd meeting, the board of directors elected him as chairman. As an independent director, he has been named the company’s chairman.
National Tea provided this information in a press release.
Mamun Rashid will be the chairman until the following annual general meeting, according to the announcement. Mamun Rashid has over 37 years of experience working in a variety of domestic and international financial companies. According to the press release, it is hoped that as chairman of NTC, he will use his knowledge in banking, trade, and strategic management to further solidify the company’s position in the market.
At the moment, Mamun Rashid is the president of ShopUp, one of Bangladesh’s top business-to-business (B2B) marketplaces. He has held significant roles in PwC Bangladesh, Citibank NA, Standard Chartered Bank, and ANZ Grindlayz Bank in addition to this. Mamun Rashid has also held the position of Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Banking Commission, which supports international trade in Bangladesh.
