On the first working day of the week, a technical issue affected the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Consequently, after being closed for 1.5 hours, trading started up again at 11:30 am. All of the DSE’s price indices saw negative trending trading on this particular day. The trading volume in Taka terms slightly declined during this period. Concurrently, the primary index experienced a 34-point decline.

According to sources, on Sunday (January 05), the main index of the DSE ‘DSEX’ fell by 34.44 points. Currently, the index is at 5,165 points.
In addition, another index of the DSE ‘DSES’ fell by 6.98 points to 1,148 points and the ‘DS-30’ index is at 1,919 points, down by 11.34 points.
Shares and units worth Tk 313 crore 65 lakh 54 thousand were traded on the DSE today. The previous trading day saw a turnover of Tk 311 crore 65 lakh 54 thousand.
Shares and units of a total of 397 companies changed hands on the DSE on Sunday. Of the companies participating in the transaction, 73 companies saw their prices increase, while 270 companies saw their prices decrease. In addition, the share and unit prices of 54 companies remained unchanged.
