The investment of the governor of Bangladesh Bank in the stock market through Motiur.

The former member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) is currently discussing the issue of goats across the country. Matiur Rahman, this time the anonymous investment of 27 crores in the stock market of Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder through Motiur has come into discussion. However, no data is yet available on this matter.

Recently some media asked some questions to the governor in writing about the investment of Abdur Rauf Talukdar anonymously in the stock market.

When asked by journalists through the spokesperson and executive director of Bangladesh Bank, Majbaul Haque, he presented it to the governor.

Journalists wanted to know from the governor that he strongly intervened to make Matiur Rahman the director of Sonali Bank while he was the finance secretary and anonymously invested Tk 27 crore in the stock market through Matiur – how true is the allegation?

In this regard, on Wednesday (June 26), the spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, Mejbaul Saaf, said that the allegations against the governor are completely false.

Since then, the huge assets of Motiur Rahman started leaking one by one, and information about the investment of Motiur and his family members in the stock market was also revealed. One after another, news about Matiur Rahman and his family members owning properties including resorts, shooting spots, bungalows, lands, and so on. In addition, investment information of hundreds of crores of taka including placement shares in the stock market is published.

On June 20, Matiur Rahman himself revealed about investing in the stock market on a private television. He said I made a profit of Tk 1 crore by investing only in the name of my daughter in the stock market. He claimed to have made a huge amount of money from this market. Matiur Rahman also claimed that he has become the owner of huge wealth by exploiting the stock market through intelligence and hard work.

After that, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) ordered the suspension of the BO (beneficiary) accounts of Matiur Rahman and his family members on Tuesday (June 25) due to the goat scandal. Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) ordered to freeze all their bank accounts on the same day.
