ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd has organized a special exhibition on various types of yarns, fabrics and accessories.
This four-day special exhibition named ’10th Yarn, Fabrics and Accessories Show-2024′ has started at Hall No. 2 of Mezzanine Floor of Bashundhara International Convention City in the capital. More than 150 international suppliers participated under one roof in the exhibition.
Participating companies are exhibiting their innovative products including various yarns, fabrics and chemicals and screen printing equipment. The exhibition will continue till December 14.
BGME administrator Anwar Hossain as chief guest and Shah Mohammad Mahbub, executive member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) as special guests and leaders of sector-related organizations were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The exhibition is mainly aimed at Buying Offices, Buying Agents, RMG Exporters, Knit Composite Units, Label Makers, Importers and Merchandisers. This will give these organizations a great opportunity to find new suppliers along with new collections.
As a result, the exhibition will act as a major gateway to yarn, fabric and accessory sources where participants will be able to easily find the latest innovations and new suppliers on an international scale.
Thanking all the organizations participating in the exhibition, BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain said that the garment sector is the backbone of our economy which is the source of nearly 80 percent of the country’s export earnings. Through this, millions of people of the country are improving their quality of life. Such arrangements will further accelerate the progress of the readymade garment sector. At the same time, this exhibition is a reflection of our commitment to innovation, collaboration and sustainability. Through this, many organizations in the country will be able to find the desired source country for their raw materials.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) executive member Shah Mohammad Mahbub said Bangladesh is committed to creating a business-friendly environment for investors and trade partners. This initiative will help achieve mutual growth and harness the huge potential of the country’s apparel sector.
Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, Managing Director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, the organizer of this exhibition, said that this is a special event with international suppliers of yarn, fabric and accessories. This exhibition will play an important role in finding out the latest technology and sources of this sector in the coming season.
Also, organizations like Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA), Merchandising Brotherhood Association Bangladesh (MBABD), Bangladesh Merchandisers and Suppliers Association (BMSA) have extended their full cooperation in the organization to provide benefits to their members.
On the other hand, due to the creation of new international markets, Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports increased by 10 percent to a total of $7.70 billion in July-April 2024, which is $70.70 billion more than the same period last fiscal.
After more than a month of political changes and subsequent crises and disruptions caused by labor movements in major industrial areas, international retailers and brands have started to return to Bangladesh. Garment sector has already started receiving work orders for the new season. Local garment suppliers said that as the sector slowly returns to normal, more retailers and brands from the Western world are visiting factories to inquire about production.
Apparel suppliers say Western buyers are placing orders for the next autumn and winter season. With this, the production process in the ready-made garment (RMG) factories of major industrial areas like Savar, Ashulia and Gazipur, including the capital, has returned to normal.
Bangladesh’s manufactured garment industry is well-known as an important global hub for garment sourcing thanks to its efficient manufacturing capacity and rich ecosystem. Bangladesh exports various types of knitwear and woven garments including shirts, trousers, t-shirts, denim, jackets, sweaters manufactured in more than four thousand factories.
The four-day exhibition will run daily from 11 am to 7 pm and will be open to trade visitors only.
