Average trading on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, increased by more than 53 percent in the outgoing week (August 11 to August 15). In addition, the capital of DSE has increased by more than 5000 crore taka. However, the DSE index saw a mixed reaction during the week of increased trading capital.
According to sources, an average of Tk 1,282,220,000 was traded on DSE every working day throughout the week. In the previous week, the average daily transaction was Tk 834 crore 97 lakh. That is, the average transaction per working day has increased by 53.57 percent or 447 crore 26 lakh taka.
According to the data, the market capitalization of DSE at the end of the week stood at Tk 7 lakh 8 thousand 964 crore 40 lakh. The market capitalization on the last working day of last week was Tk 7 lakh 3 thousand 913 crore 8 lakh. That is, the market capitalization of DSE has increased by 72 percent or 5 thousand 51 crore taka within a week.
During the outgoing week, the total transaction in DSE was Tk 6 thousand 411 crore 12 lakh. Last week the total transaction was 3 thousand 339 crore 86 lakh taka. That is, the transaction has increased by 3 thousand 71 crore 26 lakh taka in a week.
The DSE index witnessed a mixed reaction during the week under review. The main index DSEX fell by 20.97 points. However, the DSE-30 index increased by 46.62 points. And the DSES index fell by 10.19 points.
A total of 398 company shares and mutual fund units were traded on DSE during the week. Among them, the price of 105 companies increased, 278 companies decreased and 15 companies’ share prices remained unchanged.
