Temporary Suspension of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Different Services in Phases Due to System Upgradation

To enhance technological capacity and ensure more secure and uninterrupted banking services, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has undertaken a modernization of its Core Banking System (CBS). As a result, all banking services will remain temporarily suspended for three days from 1 February to 3 February. On 5 February, only cash transactions and limited branch-based banking services will be available. However, from 30 January to 7 February, all online/digital banking services of the Bank will remain suspended. Following the completion of the technological upgrade, all regular and online banking services will be fully resumed from 8 February.

In accordance with approval from Bangladesh Bank, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has taken this special initiative for technological enhancement, which will make the Bank’s overall services more dynamic, secure, and customer-friendly. To implement the system upgradation, all card services, ATM, Internet Banking, i-Banking, Agent Banking, Islamic Wallet, and all online (RTGS, NPSB, BEFTN) and digital banking services will remain completely suspended from 30 January to 7 February.

Additionally, from 1 February to 3 February, all branch and sub-branch banking activities, including cash transactions, will remain closed. However, from 10:00 AM on 5 February, limited cash transactions and branch-based banking services will resume. After completion of the scheduled activities, all regular and online banking services will be fully operational again from 8 February.

It may be noted that 30 and 31 January are weekly holidays (Friday and Saturday), and 4 February is a government holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Therefore, branch-based banking services will effectively remain closed for only three working days.

The Bank authority sincerely regrets the temporary inconvenience and seeks the cooperation and prayers of all customers and stakeholders. Al-Arafah Islami Bank remains committed to providing more advanced, faster, and secure banking services at all times.
